With TPA 4 out of the way, I finally had time to hit the paths again on Wednesday. Unfortunately, I found that my limit was still hard set at 2.5 miles. I tried to push through but my legs just said "No" and locked up. Also, the 5K near me that I was planning to participate in is sold out. I'm new to this running thing and did not realize that could actually happen. Probably a good thing, as I don't know how it would affect me being around that many people. I am not used to running around other people.
I'm going to reassess my personal goals and resume doing research for the future, hopefully completing a formal distance run sometime in June or July once I have had more time to prepare, improve my physical condition and smash the 2.5-mile barrier.
However, that will not happen before the deadline for this project, so I have no choice but to admit my complete and utter failure. I still have a lot of work to do, and did not allow myself enough time to accomplish it, due to other tasks taking priority. Something like this will require more time that I could allocate to it during this time frame. In retrospect, I should have tried to select an indoor project that I could work on after it gets dark. Choosing an activity that requires daylight made it impossible to make progress on multiple days of the week.
I will perform a final batch of research for the future this weekend, and post a final reflection in a few days.
